Well, now we know who you are, oh sarcastic one.

On the Fellowship Foundation, that's worth a hoot or three. Gonna meet Jesus, man to man. What have we come to.

My favorite chunk of text is this: (and you knew I would like it)

. . . . remarks the Family's leader Doug Coe, a man who admires the unifying tactics of Hitler and the Mafia and is considered by the Family to be "Christ's closest disciple."

On Spencer's new one, I've got a hold on it at the library. Glad to hear it's good. I've been living off his dialogue lately. Glad to get a plot or two back. Just finished the latest Dismas Hardy book. Fairly good.

Well, back to working on my pompous persona.

Hi LB - for some strange reason, I thought Mq was the sarcastic islander! Maybe we have two?

I thought that Harper's article would grab your attention. I thought it was interesting but somewhat superficial.

Having attended a prayer breakfast that Ed Meese presided over, no way will I accept that Meese doesn't consider himself to be a Christian.

Nevertheless, I haven't seen anything stranger in my life than Republican prayer breakfasts. Despite having never been to a Democrat prayer breakfast, I am betting they are just as strange.

Whether it's fundamentalists on TV, Orthodox Jewish with their long beards, Orthodox Catholic with a different style of long beard, the pilgrimage to Mecca, total immersion baptism in the nearest river, pouring oil on Shiva lingam, or snake handlers, watching other peoples' professions of faith is always somewhat strange.
