9/11 didn't change everything. It didn't change our values or our ambition. Nothing about the attack was even new except for the scope of the damage and the fact it was on our soil. We had the world on our side after it happened. Mismangement since has put much of the world against us. If W actually conducted his office with humility instead of telling the Russians that he would unilaterally tear up a treaty, told France and the rest of of the world that Kyoto was crap we might have more allies right now. He went against his own statements before 9/11 and we are reaping the rewards now.
