We'll see. The buck is quite close to the no-no land, after which the trend down accelerates to the point of an avalanche. You can look at the Rand and SA gold stocks in 2001 to see what will happen to gold and gold stocks under this scenario. The main trouble with the buck is that it can't be manipulated, and avalanches in the buck cannot be stopped. Trillion dollar flows are too much too handle for any large entity. Gold may very well become quite popular under these conditions. It will go up even if it does not become popular, though
