Cary, I have similar moments each and every day. I never thought I would fondly look back at the days of the cold war when the balance of power kept our exercise of power in check. To the insecure, the world is a very frightening place. To the paranoid, it is threatening. No missile shield is ever strong enough to protect us against the threat of asymmetric warfare. Our vulnerability is justification for any pre-emptive action. Our fear could justify the re-election of a tyrant. Sam
