I agree. It's a tough slog, that's for sure. Zawahari is one half of AQ and he originated from Egyptian Islamic Jihad, and just like OBM, he had the same beef with Egypt, its strong connection to the U.S. So these guys get the boot from their own countries and then come to haunt the US, gees.

Perhaps someone can correct me if I am wrong, but I've heard that Egypt comes in second after Israel for getting US aid money.

No. US was in Saudi Arabia before Saddam was ever considered a threat by anyone. Before Saddam was born, even.
