The three quarters of negative growth in 90-91 were: -.7, -3.2, and -2.0%

Bush's first 3 quarters in 2001 were: -.6, -1.6, -.3%

So actually i'm wrong, it was 2.4 times worse after Reagan than after Clinton.

The 2001 recession has been extremely mild by historic standards. Even more so when you consider interest rates, inflation, and unemployment.

If you have to inherit a recession, this was a good one to come in on.
