COS sounds excellent - but in addition to doing more due diligence, I want to wait for the right time to buy.

Oil sands - I believe part of the way they make money is to buy Cheap BTUs in the form of natural gas to get many more BTUs in the form of oil which usually sells for a higher price.

This is simmilar to many of the steam injected heavy oil companies down near Bakersfield, California. Berry Petroleum BRY is a small but good example.

The time to buy is when gas prices are very high (like now) and oil prices or low (not now, but maybe in a number of months when Venezuela is doing better and war premium has gone away.) Right now, I would expect their Q1 results will be hit by higher gas prices.

At some point I will cut back on E&Ps and some NG heavy royalty trusts. I expect to look at COS at that time.

On the other hand, if I had to make an investmetn and not touch it for 5-10 years, Canadian Oil Sands would be on my short list.
