given a choice between saudi arabia and france I would choose france but saudis was never hiding their support for terrorist organizations. In one of the papers I read that Saudi prince promised to reduce the aid to terrorist organizations by 10% as a sign of good will.
Saudis were never hiding their support for any and all of the terrorists organizations short of bin Ladins group. They would support bin Ladin as well if he would not be so openly hostile to the monarchy.
France, OTOH, was always fighting terrorism by building nuclear facilities in Iraq and selling weapons to all of the arab states.
