Who, pray tell is Charlie Daniels and on what
justification should we pay attention to his angry
and fundamentally deeply ignorant rant?

It is all summed up by:

"Either you agree with me or you are a traitor"

Namaste!

Jim

Looks like the devil got to him, eh?

Don't you think a Superpower like the US should have a balanced foreign policy? What happened to the worldwide sympathy that was once felt for America in the aftermath of 9/11, including even a sympathetic Iranian government. Has Bush missed an opportunity?

The proper response to 9/11 should have been a twofold one:

1) Bring to justice those who commited the act and, yes, that meant bringing down the Taliban government of Afghanastan. And bringing down the Taliban with Afghanastan's own people was brilliant. Indeed, I think the US impressed the world. So what happened to this praiseworthy behavior that America created, yes Bush created?

2) The second prong of a proper strategy response would have been to call leaders of the many nations together, and leaders of many religions together, and conduct a comprehensive, perhaps quarterly, meeting of international concerns relative to terrorism and tackle questions such as what breeds terrorism and what can be done to sitffle its growth; how to make the world a better place.

Bush was victorious on point one, but so arrogant on point two he never considered it, instead taking the advice of those in the White House who very much appear like radical fundamentalists who've hooked Bush into an obsession against Saddam Hussein, to a point where the friends we had in the world no longer matter.

And the talking points that spilled from out of the Bush White House attacked the French, the very nation that introduced, on the day after 9/11, the resolution that created the international coalition against terrorism. Perhaps his advisors recommended that he try to steal credit for this and that, hey, America's better off with freedom fries and freedom toast.

It's all too bad. It really is. We've gone backwards under the Bush stewardship in a time in history when we could have made very great strides forwards. More folks should give some consideration to this.

Bald Eagle, Do you actually believe in this far right Christian coalition Bullshit that you posted? There's a lot of people opposed to the war that are in favor of a strong defense. Have you read Schwarzkopf's views on the war?

There are also many people in favor of the war that hate fanatics like Daniels.

Bush1 would never have treated our allies the way Bush2 has & the world would not be in this diplomatic mess.
