The problem with that is within another generation Palistinians would be a majority in Israel. That is something even the doves in Israel don't want because it will stop being a jewish state.
On another note after much thought I have decided that Bush has made a crucial mistake in the Iraq situation. The axis of evil speech has deprived him of his best natural ally, that being Iran. It would also allow an excuse to open that country up to trade dropping the embargo in exchange for the cooperation. With what is happening there already and the flow of information that would come with trade the radicals at the top wouldn't be able to last very long. He could also put in as part of he package a demand that Israel withdraw from the west bank and gaza in return for Iran's dropping its support for hamas and hesbulah.
