Oil is a strategic resource for our country. It heats the homes of millions of U.S. children. We consumers pay lot's for it.

Oil companies buy oil from countries lucky enough to have it as a natural resource. Saudi Arabia is the biggest beneficiary of U.S. oil companies' purchase orders. Our companies do not need to buy oil from Iraq, notwithstanding the UN's food-for-oil program.

But we do need to make sure that our strategic oil vendors are not invaded by terrorist expansionist dictators. That's just one of the reasons why we turned back Saddam starting in 1991. Can't have our children dying of frostbite.
