The "Mistake"

<< In todays Dagens Industri, they claim that it was a mistake and that the link at nokia.com is gone now. .... but who knows, maybe it was deliberate "mistake"... >>

Interesting. thanks for the link and i'll trust your interpretation of what it says.

I think it was a mistake. The wording of the original release made it sound like CTIA Wireless 2003 had opened.

Upon reflection, I also think it was an intentional mistake.

There may have been several motivations for an intentional mistake, not the least of which could have been to preempt Qualcomm and be "first to market" with a 1xEV-DV Press Release which I think is absolutely hilarious.

A more plausible reason could be that Nokia only formally released 2 new phone models at CeBIT since they have their European product line bases covered extremely well, but anticipated negative analyst reaction to the skimpy set of releases ...

The timing of CeBIT and CTIA Wireless 2003 make it something of a tactical challenge to play the "Rolling Thunder" game that Nokia plays so well. <<
