survive an interesting choice of word I think the UN and the peacemongers in fact embolden Saddam's reckless behavior and have given him the nod to continue his devious path of dishonesty and aggression in fact the anti-war folks have pushed it into the current situation and ensured Saddam will not co-operate he doesn't think the US will go to war without UN blessing or does Saddam think the US will risk the disfavor of those who so openly oppose the war they're actually feeding Saddam and his bag of tricks - they've aided him and his course more than they will ever know or admit he's not going to go away on his own he will not comply he will continue his aggressions his accumulation of weapons his trashing of human rights his support of terrorists he is a threat to world peace
