No. Iran and America were allies, when Shah Pahlavi was in power.

In fact, the Shah was one of the greatest leaders the Middle East ever had. The Iranian society prospered under the rule of Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi. He changed Iran into a modern, successful country.

Women and minorities had much more freedom than they do now.

Then Iran was taken over by the Muslim crazies. Most Iranians probably miss the good old days of the Shah.
