The market continues its precipitous slide to oblivion.

while Dubya's eyes are fixed on the Glory.

Dubya's coalition of the willing is the coalition of one and an oxymoron now. An appropriate pun now that we are the sole focus of anger of a billion muslims.

Economic boycotts of US products have no doubt begun as indicated by the slumping prices of US stalwarts like McDonalds and Coke. People who oppose US policies are going to consciously or unconsciously boycott US products. And "old Europe" will be more than willing to step in for the US.

Tourism and the airlines will take years to recover if at all. The stock market will languish for years. The hundreds of billions of capital gains taxes which fueled our surpluses won't reappear for many years.

It is a vicious cycle of economic malaise engendered by an anti-intellectual president guided by gut rather than reason. We just invented a new mother of all bombs. But there is no challenging the father of all bombs.
