I agree. This administration decided over a year ago that a war was going to be fought. Diplomacy would be given lip service along the way until all the troops are positioned. A smoking gun would be found and if it wasn't, we'd make one appear.

There is no way to stop this machine from moving forward. Even if we were in an economic depression (and we're pretty darn close). It would be politically too risky for Bush to pull back in my opinion. He would lose face in front of the Muslim world, our servicemen would be demoralized (I believe), a sh*tload of money would have been p*ssed away just moving troops around, etc.

If the administration didn't think of these consequences when they fired up the supply chain of tanks, soldiers, food, etc. to the borders of Iraq, they're not qualified to be running this country. But, I could be 'mistakened' ~
