The building houses U.S. Treasury satellite offices, legal offices and the Old Ebbitt Grill Restaurant, among other businesses. The building was evacuated about 12:30 p.m. EST (1730 GMT) as police and fire officials rushed to the scene. Part of 15th Street, between the building and the U.S. Treasury, has been closed and traffic diverted.
