I happen to think differently and prefer to take a long range overview. But this discussion is going nowhere.

we were attacked
but not by Iraq
or anyone having anything to do with Iraq

How can you be so sure of that?
You've repeatedly stated this with absolute certainty, even though the full training backgrounds and money trail to each of the hijackers and their commanders has never been publicly disclosed by intelligence authorities.

I guess it's just your word against Colin Powell's...

Iraq is just too dangerous to do nothing about. If we sit idly by in a few years they will come back and have some weapon of mass destruction, like a nuclear bomb. Then there will be no dealing with them. Millions will die, just like happened in Germany in 30's and 40's. Many nations could have stopped Hitler before he did what he did, but they didn't want to address it and just chose to ignore it. If we ignore Iraq history could repeat itself. Then when we look back on it everyone will say, "why didn't we take him out when we had the chance".
This is the chance. it needs to be done.
