But at some other time during the weekend, a couple of compliments would be good. There were many. I am sure she was testing me by her question, "do you think I am fat?" I don't think she is in denial. I don't like relationship tests. I went off on a lecture to the girls (who had just returned from a Christian youth group meeting) about not testing relationships. I said something like, love is from God; and thou shalt not test the lord thy God...this was Jesus' response to Satan when challenged to prove God would save him. I told them that when they test their future husband to see if he really loves them, they will come up disappointed...its a relationship killer.
