Actually imo they need to get their salary costs DOWN from where they are today if they want to compete with Huiwei, and I don't believe they can do that without options.

Cisco employees, people in the valley (people like me) are all going 1099 which is actually a pay increase of 50-100% for those that used to be employees with options. No way can cisco do that, as I say they need to go down not up. One solution is move the entire R&D org to india, not just IT as is the case now. I'm not sure what kind of controls you can get in india on your IP but at least it isn't china. I don't think you can compete against a chinese company with a salaried american workforce, is my point.

I really don't know what will happen to the overall mkts to tell you the truth but I believe that US companies in the technology area cannot globally compete with the cost structure what it is.

BTW I agree with the gorilla game people about your analysis.
