<< ... a misplaced fear Iraq might do something against us. >>

Saddam has been developing chemical, biological and nucear weapons for many years. What do you think he wants to do with these offensive weapons. Who would he attack? Who would he blackmail?

Saddam Hussein could become more and more unstable. He is already quite a nasty, violent dictator. He has chosen sanctions over giving up his weapons programs. How much do you trust his good intentions?

<< If we're going to live in an imbalanced world where only a certain portion of societies feel the pain of impoverishment, malnutrition, disease and environmental distress, while the resources from their lands are literally taken from them or their cheap labor exploited, then we, as a society, should have the courage to expect some consequences. >>

Running economies is an extremely difficult task. Look at all of the economic failures througout the world. You blame America for success, but don't blame other nations for their failures. Could you do better managing a country's economy?

<< What would take more courage is to actually use the technologies of today and break down some of those imbalances that breed so much anger and hatred toward America. >>

You make it sound simple. If America was just a little kinder to the USSR, during the cold war, and let them take over the world, people would hate America less. If America was kinder to Hitler, and let him keep Europe and Asia, people would hate America less. And, if America was a little kinder to the brutal, incompetent Arab leaders, they would stop teaching hatred of Christians, Hindus and Jews in their schools.

Stop blaming America for the hatreds and brutalities of all of the dictators and thugs around the world. Without America's sacrifices, this world would have been a lot worse. America can't be held responsible and accountable for all of the injustices in the world, while the corrupt and ruthless dictators get off scott free.

You find it too easy to blame America for all of the world's ills.
