The Russian plan could work because while
inspectors are finding things, as you explained,
someone may bump Saddam off.


But the inspectors don't WANT to find anything. Why do you think Blix HID the discovery of Saddam's chemical/biological cluster munitions?

Furthermore, France and Russia like Saddam just as he is. Hell, in Iran they refer to Chirac as the "Shah of Iraq" or "Chiraq." He's been in bed with Saddam for decades. And the Russians just don't want to lose power with a long-time client state.
