Was he?

"The individual wearing the shirt was arrested for trespassing, not for the message emblazoned across his chest."

Was he? I heard the report while I was on the phone, so I didn't catch the whole thing. What i do remember was that the individual bot his son and himself a t-shirt, which they both put on. He was then approached by the security guard at the mall and asked to change his shirt. He refused to remove the t-shirt. His son, however, did remove the offensive garment. But the father got a bit vocal, and the guard told them they were banned from the mall. The father apperently threw a hissyfit, and was then arrested.

Being originally from Upstate NY, I know the mall in question. And the guards, as they are at any rural mall, were always looking for trouble (I was a teenager in that mall). Nevertheless, the guards actions are representative of a senitment - an attitude that needs be kept as far away from law enforcement as possible. My worry is that the new tools available to enforcement will encourage the sort of behavior that the mall guard exhibited. My only hope is that the training process for enforcement weeds those types of idiots out. But elected representatives have no such training, and may be just as prone to reactionary bs...
