as it does, some degree of credibility.


That may be so in some cases, such as simple blantant name calling.

But this was a policy statement made by an elected official. I think it deserves to be discussed factually, not discarded as absurd without discussion.

He may have been wrong. But it is not, to me at least, facially obvious that the intent of his statement -- which as I took it was that if the Jewish leadership in this country were to take a position strongly opposing war with Iraq that that could move the government away from an immediate war -- is on its face abusrd.
