Hmm, nice comeback. I suppose one could argue that the communist ideology, being unfounded in reality, based on received dogma and demanding removal of rational faculties, should be viewed as a religion...

but I'd better not go there.

Point conceded, avowedly atheist armies fighting for a cause can be every bit as loony, destructive and vile as the religious ones.

although they repressed religion, they couldn't extinguish it

but the minute the USSR fell apart, the well hidden icons came out
