If Moran did not hold that war were against US interests, why try to agitate for a movement against it? Because one could do "better"? If it is merely a question of tweaking, one does not engage in an adversarial position with troops on the brink of war......

What is up with the Salt Lake City cops?

…resembled the drifter that Elizabeth’s younger sister, Mary Katherine, had described to police. Mary Katherine told them that the man she knew as “Emmanuel” looked like the person who took Elizabeth in June from the bedroom the girls shared.

Mitchell and the women came to Sunday “drum circles” in the park, Cranning said, and the women wore veils over their hair and hospital-type masks covering their faces.

People were flabbergasted that despite an intensive nationwide search, Elizabeth was found so close to home and may have been moving openly — albeit in disguise — in the area. The trio apparently had lunch at a Burger King near the Kinko’s where Elizabeth was found Wednesday.

Last month, the Smarts released a sketch of a cleanshaven Mitchell and asked for help in finding him. As recently as Tuesday, they criticized police for not devoting enough attention to finding the former handyman.

Mitchell’s sister called authorities with his identity after the news conference. The man’s stepson, Mark Thompson, also gave investigators photos of a long-haired, bearded Mitchell and said his stepfather was “capable” of kidnapping a child.

…Ed Smart said. He had earlier expressed “frustration” at public statements made by police dismissing Mitchell as a potential suspect.
