“Ustav, ustav!”
At least Saddam didn't make them watch the initiation videos for Skull & Bones.

Brumar - I understand your concern. Please try to understand mine.

I am increasingly under the impression that we are being flooded by creative fiction that is meant to rally public opinion for the invasion of Iraq. An example of this practice was the "incubator babies" story - how Iraqi soldiers came to a hospital in Kuwait and threw babies on the floor & left them to die, so they could steal the incubators. This was proven to be a lie later, but at the time, it served well to rally public opinion.

I feel that the article you have posted fits into this category. Let us take a look at the language:

Suddenly, the prisoner knew the boys’ identities. His stomach churned with dread.

I am sorry to belabour the obvious, but the author of these lines has no idea when the prisoner saw anything or what happened to his stomach, since the story is that the prisoner was dead some seconds afterwards. This is fiction, nothing more.

I am not saying there is no basis to this work of fiction - probably, someone told the author that Saddam took his boys to execute prisoners. I do not know if this claim is correct. Even if it is, I cannot see how this is grounds to claim Saddam an extreme and immediate danger for the rest of the world because of which he has to be immediately removed from power.

By the way, I do not generally condemn the sources articles, but you can really do much better than Maxim - a guys' magazine known for girlie photos and fun stuff rather than geopolitical analyses.
