Things were a lot better when Bill was in charge.

Bill Clinton--UN head? Simply not in the cards. But he does like executive positions that require a lot of selling and negotiating ability. Some people believe he would make an excellent mayor of New York.

As to Clinton's decision to bomb Belgrade and protect Muslim minorities in that area, it probably did more to deter terrorism than any other act done by anyone since then. Of course if they really want to deter terrorism, they need to take a strong stand against any further settlements in occupied territory.

As for Hillary, I think she has a great deal more intelligence and better discipline than Bill, in the sense that she prepares herself very well for public debates and for answering questions in public. In fact, I've never seen anyone as well prepared, and furthermore, as willing to answer questions on topics that would be too hot for some of her contemporaries to handle. For example, in a very conservative upstate NY community, she explained precisely why she favord gun control, to the consternation of a lot of dyed in the wool NRA types.

Because of her skills and willingness to tackle difficult questions, I am somewhat perplexed that she didn't take a stronger position on going to war, preferring to give the president her full support in any decision he made to use force. This may be due in part to her Wellesley College training. Wellesley believes that women should support their husbands--a quaint idea nowadays, but still taught at Wellesley. The spinoffs can be interesting--like supporting your husband when you know he's messing around.
