whoa, so we've got both Carter AND Clinton coming out against the war?

Thats pretty much every president who is able to have an opinion that isn't in the Bush family. Really, really troublesome.

Usually politicians won't go against a current admin's policies, it just isn't wise. Carter and Clinton know that Bush is a goner.

Hi PartyTime -- I do read the credible stuff from both sides.

I just can't let the real outrageous stuff slide by.

FWIW -- I don't appreciate some of the statements about former Presidents Carter and Clinton posted here either.

The sad fact is that the degree of "inspections" we would all insist on to be satisfied that Saddam was complying with UN sanctions, etc. ......

would lead to another 1998 style inspections disagreement .... which this time we would NOT except.

which would lead to us needing to take steps to remove him from power.

And since its extremely unlikely that he would abdicate peacefully ...

we would have no other choice but to remove him by force.

This is a little off topic, but I'm also tired of hearing about some 18 year old Palestinian who was brainwashed into thinking that blowing himself to bits along with 10 - 20 innocent victims was a good idea.
