The smart countries and companies are taking the lead on the environment -- the USA and US companies are the odd man out on this issue.

Yup true.

But there's a preponderance of focus on the human activity. Little or no attetnion ot natural forces such as increased heat and energy coming at us from the sun in recent centuries.

In the end it's probably a combination of both. But you won't hear that from the sierra club.

My problem with govt subsidies and grants for enrgy projects is that they're highly politicized, and the billions we have spent on such projects over the last 25 yrs has not yielded much real benefit.

It's like the segway - remmemeber all the media hype over that thing? What have you heard about it lately? Last thing i heard about it was a few mos ago some coastal town in Calif banned them because they were colliding with people and bikes!
