It was relevant...but lets start with one of your bolds, which is what I assume you mean by main factual assertions.

During the 1991 Gulf War, Saddam also commissioned several failed terrorist attacks on U.S. facilities.

Here it is the Gulf War.....note the appearance of the term Gulf War....the US is bombing the shit out of Iraq and we have the nerve to say that Saddam is conducting terrorism....might there be more than a little bias in that claim?

Next one....

Saddam Hussein’s dictatorship has provided headquarters, operating bases, training camps, and other support to terrorist groups fighting the governments of neighboring Turkey and Iran, as well as to hard-line Palestinian groups.

It's somewhat important to know when these things occurred. Iran, for example is interesting. Iran and Iraq were at war for some time, was it during that period? Today? Well hell, we consider Iran to be on of the Axis of Evil...I'll bet we might be funding the very same terrorist group. That coincidence has happened more than once.

to quibble about the possibility of political interference on the State Department

The State Department is not the only body that is influenced by politics. The US still holds that the aluminum tubes could be used for uranium enrichment...Doesn't matter that the UN has concluded otherwise or that experts to the Administration have also said that they could not be used for uranium enrichment.

Do you want me to believe that the US and UK intelligence communities did not have the capability of determining that the Niger documents were forgeries?
