Report Doubts Bush's Iraq Domino Theory - LA Times

I don't think many people believed in this latest attempt by Bush to sell the war. Expecting Iraq to go from a dictatorship to a democracy in one giant leap was a bit of a stretch.

Zo Re..The Los Angeles Times quoted the report as saying, "Liberal democracy would be difficult to achieve ... Electoral democracy, were it to emerge, could well be subject to exploitation by anti-American elements."

First off, I haven't been able to substantiate the report. It wasn't on Drudge or on Google news, so I am not sure of the validity. Nonetheless, there are many view points, on whether democracy will flourish in Iraq. Frankly, anything has got to be better than what we have there now. So whether a true democracy, or an offshoot, doesn't make a lot of difference, as long as the gov. can stabilize Iraq, and improve living conditions. I would consider both likely in the short term, as all sides likely will give democracy a chance. It depends upon, if the gov, can get strong enough to survive to adulthood.
