Right. WiMAX is WiFi's big brother (both based on wideband OFDM, as opposed to Flarion's narrow-band OFDM); big brother will take WiFi's bandwidth to the WAN and support mobile operation, as well as serve as 2.5G backhaul and WLAN hotspot feeder (in place of T1).

So while most reasonable people will see a need for 2.5G in its many variants, few will see the need for the ultra expensive 3g...
