From the site you provided....

Investment in the future

China's city streets, today, are pretty well jammed, packed with every mode of transport imaginable.

But billions of dollars are being invested in developing highways to link up this huge country's regions - allowing inter-province trade to flow easier and encouraging domestic tourism.

In the past 12 years, China's road network has doubled to 1.7 million kilometres.

The current boom in private car ownership is only the beginning.

As incomes grow and bank finance catches on, China is set for an explosion in auto ownership that will dwarf anything the global industry has ever seen.
