JDN,
Yes,
Kerry doesn't have a chance if anyone looks at his record. He is running away from his past, so that says a lot about himself.

Lieberman seemed to be a good man until he sold out for Gore. Same thing will happen to Kerry trying to change his spots.

Lots of anti-American rallies this weekend. Try to find at least one in your community and bring a few friends with you.

Steve

Well... somebody out of the field of candidates, official and unofficial (what is it now? 13?) will wind up with the Dem. nomination.

I believe London oddsmakers right now have it as Kerry, Edwards, and Dean @ #3 with a bullet ('cause of appeal to activists in the Dem. party base). Graham has 'favorite son' VP appeal.

Kerry is given presumptive front-runner status (sometimes the 'kiss of death') because of big fundraising advantage, and the most professional staff.

Realistically, though such early odds lines are interesting... it's still fairly wide open... but the accelerated primary schedule will likely throw in a few kinks.

Dont get Kerry and Kennedy mixed up. Kerry is a war hero, gun owner, defense and intelligence expert, former prosecutor, doesn't drink heavily and play around like Kennedy, has no skeletons in his closet like Teddy, doesn't support nationalized health care like Kennedy, voted for Iraq disarmament unlike Kennedy, has not been under Kennedy's shadow for a long time. But there is a lot to admire about Kennedy, so a partial comparison is fine.

The GOP has this dirty trick mind game going to compare JFK's, Kerry-Kennedy, liberal Massachusetts, even trying to make Kerry look like a drinking womanizer though he hardly drinks and hasn't womanized since he was single. It wont work. That said, Kerry needs a good strong southern running mate, or McCain. Edwards and Graham are the two best ones right now. But there are others. Take North Carolina or Florida and Bush is done for.
