Partial Birth is not an important issue at all. It's about as common as flag-burning or cross-burning. It's a symbolic political dirty trick is all, and a silly one.

I welcome the passing of it though I'm strongly pro-choice because it will shut up a lot of the anti-rights zealots who use partial birth to disgust voters. I also like the fact the anti-choice crowd now wants to push for a ban even when the mother may die in the process. Shows how much they care about women. And that fact they're all repressive men pushing for it. Very Taliban'esque view of womens rights.

Kerry was smart to abstain.
