Technically now that Senate has been elected the democracy is now restored although one can qualify it by seeing why the Army Chief is still the in charge of the country, that is a Pandora box which I don’t wish to open but removal of sanctions is more to do with the technicality of situation. It was due to be removed once both houses of the parliament stand restored. It remains to be seen however how much these house will be in session I think the constitutional minimum is the answer. The kind of dressing down Mush is receiving in the two houses by the opposition is a good sign for openness however. It is nice to see him being grilled over his right to take power away from an elected PM and being called a usurper and a despot. I think if one can criticise the power brokers of a country without retribution that is a good test of any infant democracy. We criticise the country and the power brokers to our heart delight without any fear on that test I feel that our basic rights are protected.
