re:Just not alone. Think of our servicemen. The Marines are not happy right now being thrown into a very dangerous situation.

They're not going alone there are fourteen countries on the ground right now ready to go.

The Marines are ready to go now, and are bored sitting around waiting.

Why doesn't Saddam give up his weapons now while he can, does he really want to die?

Saddam is no threat because we have 200,000 men and women on his ass. We can't stay there for months on end, we either use the military option now or Saddam wins another year or more of time. The part you keep missing is we have a huge army breathing down his neck and he still defies the UN - do you seriously believe if we back down he'll cooperate?

re:Would save a lot of lives and money.

According to many reports that were published by the Harvard Medical Team, the World Health Organization as well as UNICEF, the sanctions have rendered a devastating effect upon the people of Iraq. It is estimated that approximately 4000-5000 children under the age of 5 die monthly as a result of the deprivation of basic essential food, i.e., milk, meat, or eggs. In accordance with the reports, there is a lack of medicine such as immunizations for their babies, aspirin, surgical tools, and even bandages to cover their wounds. Their soil, air, and water are contaminated. Genetic aberrations have surfaced in deformed babies, some are born without hands, feet, mouth, or brains. The leukemia and cancer rate has risen by about 400-500% since 1991.

Think of it, we could save over 5000 children a month by removing Saddam this month. Can the children afford for us to give Saddam more time?
