Why are the sanctions in place? It is because Saddam refuses to give up his programs for developing weapons of mass destruction. Of course, if Saddam would spend the billions on his people, instead of on weapons systems, millions of Iraqis would not be suffering.

But, the brainwashed antiWar protestors say that Saddam doesn't have weapons of mass destruction. And, these same protestors say that Saddam's spending of billions on weapons systems, instead of spending on schools and food programs, is a great way of caring for his people.
