Arafat contradicts your statement. He is holding on for dear life to what he has. He doesn't act as if it were "nothing." The attempts by the Arab League (Saudi Plan) and Egypt (cease fire) also indicate that they realize that there is a lot to lose if the Palestinians continue on the path of violence. Arafat admitted that he should have accepted the Barak/Clinton offer. If violence continues, that window will close, forever.
