israel shamir is one of several jews i respect. if in the bible you read the story of saul (who was born jewish), and who persecuted christians, yet later came to know Christ and became a christian himself as the apostle paul, only to be persecuted by his own people in the same way he had done, you will see that jews who convert to christianity are our greatest hope.

bernard nathanson is a perfect example of this. he is jewish and co-founded NARAL (the national abortion rights action league). he was the director of the largest abortion clinic in the world. he personally presided over 75,000 abortions, including his own son. he was one of the greatest proponents of abortion in the 70's. later he came to realize the pure evil of abortion and he became one of the biggest icons of the pro-life movement, and he converted to christianity.

these jews for Christ need to be praised as proof that salvation is open to all (jews and gentiles) and that it is never too late to change one's heart.

saul (the apostle paul), taught us in romans the principle of "to the jew first". every time he entered a new city, he would go to a synagogue first to spread the gospel to the jews before the gentiles. the trouble with christianity today is people have forgotten this important concept! before we go and try to forcibly convert a billion muslims at gunpoint to our way of thinking, we ought to spread the gospel to the millions of jews right here in our midst. of course that is not even remotely being done, as the article below so aptly points out.

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. --John 14:6
