Any country dominated by one religion in which people fanatically believe can never be a democracy. They can't even become capitalist. Religion is a determined enemy of progress.

Jim, my beliefs are fundamentally incompatible with democracy too. The problem is to establish a rule of law and political system which resolves conflicts of interest. <Islam at its core was fundamentally incompatible with democracy...it is against "the book" in principle. >

Islam uses a sword, gun or other instrument of murder to establish who is the boss. Democracy sacrifices the minority but without a lot of bloodshed, other than those crushed and who die from the ignorance and mess created by having mob rule via voting - melanin rich, homosexual, women, children and others are suppressed in democratic systems, with minimal rights depending on the madness of the mob at the time.

But the fact that democracy is a hopeless form of government doesn't mean me and the Moslems can't live harmoniously with it. Turkey is a Moslem country, but they work on a democratic basis, so democracy and Islam can indeed coexist. Just as in the USA, the mob in Turkey will vote to suppress, gaol and otherwise mistreat those who they don't like who are going about their business.

Bossy bullies love to order other people around in both democratic mob rule and Islamic Kingdoms. Not to mention communist and all other types of countries.

There hasn't yet been a Libertarian state where we do as we please provided we don't harm others. We live in hope.

We the Sheeple,
Mqurice

Well Jim that's of course what one would expect a "King" to say,no?...I don't see the Muslim population in this country having conflicts in the voting booth.Saddam sees fit to have elections of course he's the only candidate....Think the faithful would get pissed if they had a couple more names on the ballot?
