The fact that there are still ships out there is because they haven't figured out where to send them yet. March is half over and still no ultimatum from Bush should be enough of a clue that the military plans are seriously disordered.

Carl,
The ships with indirect fire capabilities have been moved to appropriate places for the attack.

Except for some that have already been offloaded, the ships carrying tanks and Bradleys are still in Turkish port or close by. The vehicles that have been off-loaded have been delivered to the front.

The 3rd Armored Division in Germany is on the move. I presume to replace the 4th (still in Texas) whose tanks are on the ships in Turkey. I would not be surprised if the 3rd never returns to Germany. The 4th can still deploy by air if Turkey has the appropriate re-vote soon.

We know Kuwait is full of troops and gear ready to go. United Airlines has been flying thousands of troops and Marines into UAE. They imo are going to hook up with equipment on ships already in the Gulf for the attack. I hear from Navy sources that the Gulf is like a traffic jam. But we will not offload all of our heavy equipment until we are comfortable it can be free to shoot, move and communicate. Putting it all in static on-shore positions makes it just too vulnerable.

The probable final meeting between the coalition of the willing is about to begin. I believe you will have the final decisions you are waiting for within 1-3 days...or less.
