The political left has no amnesia that I'm aware of. If you're talking about far-leftists I cannot understand them any more than I can the far right, but the mainstream liberals are DEFINITELY very aware of the mistakes of the past, lies of the past, and what is necessary to make for peace and prosperity in the world again. Many of them fought in Nam. Others fought in WWII or Korea. On the other hand, sometimes I think Bushies are living back in the Cold War. Comparing Saddam to Hitler etc. as if he's a major power. Really inaccurate thinking. They also dont seem to remember the lies which got us into Vietnam. And ironically none of their leaders that I can thnk of have ever actually fought in a war themselves.
