Hi Jeff,

how in the heck can you make Pitt, a 5th ranked team and possible #1 big dance seed, out to be an underdog?

The betting in Las Vegas was that Pitt would choke in the big game(s). The bad rap on Pitt all year has been their schedule, and that aside from Big East games, they really didn't play much else in the way of ranked teams (save Georgia, I think). UConn was very much the betting favorite, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to learn that the UConn loss was the biggest take for the sports books this weekend...

KJC

PS - Pitt earned a #1 seed this weekend. We'll see if they get it. (Kentucky, Arizona, Oklahoma and Pitt for #1. Texas, Kansas, Florida and Marquette get the #2 seeds.)
