What about the other 15,000 public companies out there?

No surprise there; most public companies try to put as good a face as possible on results reported to shareholders, and will only report the minimum expenses required by law. And by the same token, no one is going to go out and make up phantom expenses to make their reported results to shareholders look worse than they actually are, as you must believe these 150 companies are doing.
