Kerry has always supported disarming Saddam. Strongly.
He's also always been strong for rooting out terrorism and protecting our shores, even pre 9-11 when he warned Clinton and Bush about these dangers being much more likely than any missiles from rogue nations, which was what Bush thought was the big danger pre 9-11, thereby promoting SDI.

Read the HARDBALL text I just posted. Kerry's point has always been to go in strong, united, well-organized, so as to protect our troops and not turn off our allies and split the world as you do so. Bush has indeed badly split the world and even in this country people are very wary and nergvous about Bush's war. They'll support it for now, most of them, but only because it's inevitable now anyway.
