Now THAT I find rather stupid and I'm not Christian. That is even stupider than our pledge flap.

I'll respond to the PM later.

No, the fact that the French aided us in the Revolution obviously doesn't merit a boycott, although I'm sure had Loius XVI known the ultimate result he wouldn't have done it. Our victory gave quite a boost to the anti-monarchy rights-of-man intellectuals in France.

What does merit a boycott is France's current bullheaded opposition to war on Iraq. France has said it will boycott a resolution authorizing war REGARDLESS of anything. So if Blix finds a lab that will have a working nuke in 3 weeks? Too bad.

Early on in this thing the left loved to point to the dirty hands of the US- -"No Blood For Oil". Since then it has come out that the French don't have just prospective, possible, maybe economic interests in Iraq and Iraqi trade- -they have current ones and have had for a long time. That nuclear reactor the Israelis bombed back in the '80s to stop the Iraqi nuclear program? Built by the French. They Iraqis massively overpay on contracts to the French, Germans and certain other nations to buy their loyalty. They want them in a position where they will do whatever is necessary to keep the fat profits flowing in.

And that's just what they have bought.
