make sure and buy their new CD (Home) vs. Fly which is the old one.

In typical fashion for the sleazy music business, the DCs make almost no money off "Fly" (which had a bunch of hits) and after making a fortune for Sony and not themselves, they weren't even allowed any kind of creative control on the next CD. They wanted to do an acoustic album and played hardball with Sony, threatening to distribute it over the internet because what difference did it make to them whether they had a label since they made no money on their sales anyway. Sony backed down and gave them a better deal and a little more creative control.

I wouldn't mind it if the music industry was completely destroyed by the internet. As far as I can see that "american idol" show has managed to produce about 20x the quality of performers that the music industry has been able to deliver for over 10 years.
