Yes of course, it's the oil. Leverage against the Saudis and others. Although now we have alienated Russia, another big supplier. But the longterm answer is about getting OFF oil. And out of the Middle East. Oil will always be a major fuel source but we can evolve beyond that much quicker than we have been doing. And preserve our coastlines and wilderness areas from exploitation.
